Hello Modern Parents!
Gamer Rage, or the verbal and physical outbursts that occur when kids and teens play video games, is a REAL problem.
This is a topic that comes up a lot with the families that we work with at the Modern Parenting Solutions (MPS) Office, so I know it's a real concern for most parents.
If your child or teen yells, swears, breaks household items, or gets into a really bad mood while playing video games, the answer isn't to take away video games altogether - instead the answer is to work with your child or teen to teach them how to manage their emotions and behavior in a healthy way.
This is one of those topics that hits close to home for me. My son (who is now a young adult) struggled with Gamer Rage when he was a teen, so I know what it's like to have your peaceful house interrupted by video games...so in my newest podcast episode, I'm giving you the same advice that I used to curb Gamer Rage in my own household (and I've seen it work for lots of MPS clients too).
In Episode #20, you'll learn:
This episode talks about the Rage Thermometer: a technique that I developed to gauge where your child or teen's emotional intensity is in the moment, and the associated strategies to use to keep your child's emotional level low so that they don't get to the Rage Zone.
Because I teach everything I know about Gamer Rage in this episode, it's a pretty involved one, so I created a Gamer Rage Guide that outlines all of the strategies and tips that I talk about in the episode. You can download that guide by clicking the button below.

Video games should be a fun experience for our kids and teens, so listen to Episode #20 or read the transcript of the episode and begin bringing peace BACK to your home today!
Warmly,
Dr. Becca Ballinger
